I’ve always wondered what Cameo means. Says on wikipedia that it’s a way of carving in which a positive (relief) image is raised to contrast with the negative (intaglio) background. It can also refer to the jewellry and vessel made from this manner of carving. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cameo
